MICHELIN CUP CHALLENGE REVIVAL 2024: A record number of participation in the competition
THE SUCCESS OF THE MICHELIN CUP CHALLENGE REVIVAL 2024
Michelin Cup Challenge Revival aimed to reconnect with the spirit of the pioneers of aviation by echoing the Michelin Aviation Cup, a competition designed by André Michelin in 1908. The challenge was to fly from Paris to the summit of Puy-de Dôme in less than 6 hours. At that time, planes were only capable of traveling a few hundred kilometers, with basic navigation tools.
For this new edition, 116 years later, FFA licensed pilots had to complete 6 obstacle tests in less than an hour. The points of vigilance being piloting, safety and ecological transition: key values of Michelin's commitment to the aviation of the future. The tests, digitally recordable, could be carried out and repeated locally in each flying club, thanks to the recording of each performance on the KRISTAL.AIR application.
142 FFA licensed pilots active in 130 aerodromes and flying clubs in France entered the competition. At the end of the 2-month challenge, the 3 winners received this July 27, a unique exceptional bronze trophy bearing the image of an aviator, symbolizing the beginnings and the future of aviation for Michelin. .
